Thanks to all persons who have submitted these cakes to this site. As you can tell, they were a huge inspiration for me for this idea Man-Eating Shark Cake.

I used the Wilton Cake Pan football for this cake.I did 2 cakes, one for the body/mouth and about half of more used to the pinna.A further 11 inch round cake was used for the base of "water".I did all the cakes and then froze their overnight, to facilitate the sculpture.

The first form of football was cut at an angle so that the shark was coming out of the tray cake, cutting out piece was then turned to be the bottom jaw. I cut the tip from the second football cake to use as the pinna. The corner was rather difficult, as was to be rounded to fit the back shark.

After mounting pieces together with toothpicks, I added a rough "briciola-coat" commercial for the shark icing. Coloured "Virgin" with Fondant icing of gel to the skin of sharks.Nero and a touch of blue royal did the trick. then rolled it be about 14 inches wide and 20 or so inches long to cover the shark in one piece.

The water doesn't get a coat of Crumb. simply redirected two colours blue on base and spread it to look like the ocean water.
Teeth were sweets of nougat, heated briefly in the microwave to make them easy cutting/sculpt. I had to tinker a bit that they looked like shark teeth, rather than vampire fangs.

Body parts are simply fudge, handmade, as would be out of playdough. the final touch was some gel red coater, right out of the tube cover where I put in arm and leg and resemble blood.

I hope that what I have from other here, you can get some inspiration from my cake! Salon happy!
