I made this cake for my kilt cool sister and her husband who are moving to Scotland. I started doing five thin sheet cakes 1/2 (using 1 box of pan cake mix). Frozen each one so that when assembling cake that would be easier to manage and cut to the desired shape.

I made buttercream icing and overlapping between the cakes with icing.I have one of the cakes cut into 4 long triangles and used for reflection off the bottom of the pie.The satin whole pie and put in the freezer.

I used Fondant to cover the cake and colorful of all colors of which I needed.I did the chains, belt buckle pin and the sword of dark grey painted them with silver Pearl powder mixed with vodka. Before you paint the pieces I pressed them into various things to achieve the desired texture and pattern (I used watch metal band, jewelry, etc..).

I used a pasta Maker to model the fudge in strands of spaghetti to make the plaid. I attacked these strips with a thin strip of icing buttercream thinned. I made a small batch of Rice Krispie bars and cut them into shape of sporran (envelope) then this covered with fondant icing and. Textured fudge sporran and belt to look like leather rolling on waxed paper crumpled. I made the fringe on sporran using pull and Peel Twizzlers licorice red painted with black pasta of food.

I bought a full sheet cake box and mat to the store to store the cake. fits perfectly in this box! this is my most beautiful cake yet!!

My son is mad rat and five male pet rats of his own, so when his birthday came really don't have to think very long.I based on shape and colouring of his, Homestyle Rat Birthday Cake on his favorite rat "bolt".

First baked a cake of marble (choc and vanilla) in a pan loaf by using a method based on Madeira.Once refrigerated cold during the night to make it easier to carve.

The next day forms the cake in a sort of elongated egg with a serrated knife. Then iced cake all buttercream with a base in natural colouring. I left that to set a while and then used a piping bag to apply the colorization of Hood I used a fork to add texture to coat the rat.

The nose and ears and tail were made also of pink frosting fudge and small white teeth fondant. dark chocolate shavings for eyes and, finally, mustache of spaghetti. He is sitting on a fondant "hammock" with paw prints, painted over with food colours and the candles are seated in a bowl filled with clean rat cake cuttings and iced to match the cake.

Thanks for watching my little cake!
