My husband and I made this Mickey Mouse's birthday cake for our son on her second birthday. Was our first time to try to make a three-dimensional pie.

We used 9 "round trays for the face and ears and cut to size ears. we used scraps from to build three-dimensional nose and mouth.

For the icing on the head and ears, we didn't want to use Nero (black glaze and 2-year-old don't mix! also adults don't like white frosting is), so we created a glaze of dark chocolate to use instead of black. Even the contours of the face and eyes were done with a dark chocolate instead of black.

For the face, we mixed crowd butter cream frosting with some yellow and Red food coloring to create a tone color peach skin.

All other details on the face, like language and eyes, were done with frosting cookies that comes in bags just squeeze easy to use.

Originally, we were going all icing using the star-shaped tip icing tube. we were too impatient that though and just started to sweep the icing throughout however could go next.

I think it came out pretty well for the first time, and overall it's been easy to do.

My son wanted me to do a Pokeball for his birthday cake, so here is my attempt!Used to make the bowls Pyrex pokeball.I had only used a box cake mix.Filled each bowl of 2.5 quart halfway.I also put the vellum on the bottom of each bowl to prevent the cake of adhesion to the bottom of the cups.

I had to bake the cake for about an hour until it was done entirely in Central. dyed white whipped icing yellow, blue and green to accent the pie. I bought a black veil and red to decorate the Pokeball. I also used a star points to delineate the cake. I bought to decorate the cake with Pokemon toys.

Let me say thanks to everyone who gave their ideas on this site. I made this wall and 3D Birthday Cake design after watching your beautiful cakes for my son Paolo its fifth birthday.

I did a great great fruit cake in a tin of roasting and cut this in 4 squares. Three of them stacked to make the body and the fourth was used to make the tracks and head.

Stacked body on a thin border cross shaped cake that balanced on a dish of black Pate. This allowed me to have the body off the ground and also slide the traces of side above the protuberances cake Board.I covered the body in fondant bright yellow and then painted in most details using a mixture of edible coatings gels and powders.Any 3d parts where added on as I went.

Traces where triangles rounded cut by the fourth square cake and fondant covered in black.I was able to push and wheels and gears track side because Torta mold was soft. This allowed me to give more definition, especially when highlighted with edible silver powder. I just used a large skewer to indent the fudge actual black track.

The head was the hardest as I wanted it to be on a neck. Crushed everything else cake and seals in shape for the head (I love working with fruit cake for this reason, it s so ductile). I used a tablespoon of child sterilized as the outline for the neck and folded form covered with fondant Covered varnished. head and painted in the detail. Added 3d eyes dark paintings and also the bug (had the wire for its antennas). weapons were made by fudge placed around drizzle of cake and Had some old painted. candy that crunched up and pushed Fondant to make the cube of rubbish.

This cake was difficult, but make it nice and best of all my son loved so much he didn t want to share it with. we had to keep your head for a couple of weeks, good job was fruit cake.

What is a diaper cake?

What is a diaper cake that you ask? Well, even if the story is clear cake diaper, baby diaper cakes have been around for a very long time. Women have been adorning their expectant loved-ones with these creations little cunning--originally made from cloth diapers and includes items such as diaper pins and glass bottles for generations. In recent years, diaper cakes has gained in popularity and increased interest and demand has been attributed to several television shows (e.g. "Sex in the City") and celebrity baby showers that have characterized them as the perfect gift for the MOM-be. The innovative design and amazing creativity that has immersed in this trade handicrafts has also helped launch their popularity.

A diaper cake Is built?

Diaper cakes usually begin with a base of ... Well, diapers, of course.Diapers are structured in the form of a cake and cake typically includes several other items of the child that are incorporated in the design of the cake as other gifts for MOM-d ' ĆŖtre. cake is then decorated with tape or other news. Often, more layers are created to look like a wedding cake, although single layer cakes are also available and can provide you with an option of lower budget.

Diapers can be individually rolled to form the cake or can be used in their current form, folded and then simply "fanned" in a circle. diaper cakes Laminates give a look more elaborate and "finished" but can be more expensive, because the building of pie requires more work and why each diaper must be secured individually with a rubber band, tape or wires, adding to the cost of materials. Whichever type of design that you choose to buy or build for you, make sure that there are a lot of baby embedded items. If you're buying from a vendor, make sure that displays a list of ingredients diaper cake [http://donteatthecakes.com/diapercakemenu.html]

for the cake that you choose. Some elements that are typically included are clothes, bibs, bottles, Pacifiers, baby powder, baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby wipes, you get the idea. especially since you can include in the pie without ruining the design creating a look cluttered or "hodge-podge", better!

Not just for baby showers

Diaper cakes for now are popular for many occasions outside the traditional use Baby Shower. in my business of cake of diapers, sell many of my cakes as corporate gifts for moms waiting in the Office, as gifts for the Hospital (an alternative much more valuable and lasting for sending flowers), for batism, for Homecoming of the child, even as an early birthday present for year (using a greater dimension of nappies and toddler gifts, of course).

Taunia Lin Kipp is the founder of not eat cake! Diaper Bakery & treats inedible located in Saratoga Springs, NY and serve the United States and in Canada. diaper cake Designs and your company's unique towel are chocked-full of useful, everyday items and continue to gain popularity as the ideal gift for any special occasion.

Coolest SuperWhy! Birthday Cake 4

by Shelly
(Illinois)

Homemade SuperWhy! Birthday Cake

Homemade SuperWhy! Birthday cake

SuperWhy! decorated cakes are not readily available in grocery stores, bakeries as a neighbor asked if I could have done his 3 year old a SuperWhy! Birthday cake. I accepted gladly.

I had the SuperWhy! images (SuperWhy, balloons and because the author) from website PBSKids. they have a page of really cool design center for parents and teachers.Basically, you can get a coloring page for any desired character of PBS out I used a pan Square 12 x 12 and used the gel piping method for transferring images on the cake of analysis. I know that another decorator said it didn't work well for you, but it worked well for me.

Balloons, SuperWhy and the author because they were three separate images, so a good tip is to make sure you tape all three photos together, outdistanced the way you want them on the cake and then pipe the gel trace as a great image. Is too difficult to get them on the cake as separate images.

The basic buttercream frosting is just. I discussed to outline everything in black and decided not to. I described the whole color that I was going to use in that section, but caused some problems in the area of the body (hard to see the arms vs. Hood, body, etc.), then I suggest at least outline the body in black.

I used the tip # 14 main decoration. I used the tip # 17 by the hair, and it came out great. As regards the colors were mixed custom go.I used the greenest different to get the color shown, and also applies to blue.A useful tip is the color of the skin.I used the copper as usual suggested for the tone of the skin, but it was too pale, so I added some brown to make it a bit hotter. The bottom edge was done in tip # 21 and the top was done in tip # 14.As can happen with any proposed transfer, after the image was on the cake, I had a lot of white space ' emptiness ', especially to the left of SuperWhy!.

To fill the gap I used sprinkles in the shape of stars and their dissemination only slightly. Added a nice touch and it went very well with the theme, and especially in the empty space is filled. I do a lot with my sweet. maintain sprinkles in all colors, shapes and sizes from side for just this purpose. my neighbor was really pleased, and her son went crazy when he saw SuperWhy!, especially with writing because in his hand. her smile was worth the work!!Decoration happy!

Our 3 year old is obsessed with construction trucks, so has made this no.659 of trucks and then Dima dumptrucks construction paper and linked them to the sidewalk chalk bucket-added bottom 1/3 of a lunchbag paper upwards of it and made them in goodie bags/buckets full of treats. We also played ' triplet backloader on the pin '-which I drew upon the advice of Bristol and it played like pin the tail on the donkey.

Feel free to share these ideas for other moms looking for more than just a dumptruck cake.

Diaper cake of the month March 2009

This month the Ark of Noah is taking center stage.  I really like this cake – its simple lines, soft colors and made the characters on Noah's Ark, the tape matches! I saw the Bank about six months ago and knew that I wanted to use it on a diaper cake.

First, I thought it was a great theme using this month since everyone is talking about savings, our children's future, etc., so that a bank is the classic way to start collecting the change for new baby. In my house, we have a community bank where all is change from laundry, change from the couch, etc. The vase of community is dumped once a year to vacation time.It I divided among four children and there becomes spend money.(Ok, they are teenagers and not as was once – but what is these days?).

Here are the details of product for Ark 3 Tier diaper Cake the of Noah.

I hope that you enjoy the longer days and the hottest days (PLEASE PLEASE, PLEASE, make them warmer). it feels good when you can appreciate the simple and sweet things life has to offer. all my existing customers and new visitors wish this month.
